How It Works

What is it?
A monthly $25 Texas Hold 'Em tournament in Derek's basement.

The Twist:
This is a satellite tournament. Each tournament winner will take home a satellite token which equals their buy-in to the final game of the year.

The Basics:
There will be 10 games on tour leading up to the final game.

If you win a tournament on the tour - your entry fee is paid for in the final game ($100 buy in). The remainder of the entry cash will be divied up as seen in the 'Payouts_withSatelites' tab. We hope to have 10 different entry fees paid for by the final game, guarenteeing a $1,000 prize purse

What if the winner of a tournament has already won a satellite token?
The satellite token is awarded to the next finsiher, and thus the first place finisher would have a cash only prize.

The same goes if the first and second place finishers already hold tokens, as well as if the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. If the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place finishers already hold tokens - only cash will be awarded for that game.

Do I need to be involved in every monthly game?
Absolutely not. There are NO commitments to the amount of games you play on the tour.

If you win a token, you could opt out of remaining games on the tour, and still show up for the $1,000 game. However, if you've already won a token - then you are playing for purely cash... which is nice. In addition, we will keep track of money leaders and points leaders on the 2010 tour, with prizes to be named later.

Is this legal?
100%. I have included the MN gambling statutes which addresses house poker games.
