Is this legal?
100%. I have included the MN gambling statutes which addresses house poker games.
Can my friends play on the tour?
Currently, the poker tour will be limited to the original 50 that were invited, until I get a complete feel for how many are interested. Multiple people are on board currently and I don’t want things to get out of control managing poker games of over 20 people. If it looks like the first game is manageable, then I might open it up to a few more people. So until otherwise noted - this is an invitation from Pit Boss only event.
Besides the free entry in the year end tournament, do you win money each week if you win or get second?
Yes. Please see the Payouts with Satellites tab. All entry money will be divided up among the players, but $100 will always be allocated to the satellite winner. The only exception would be if the 1st thru 4th place finishers already had satellite tokens. In this case, there would be a cash only purse. Those payouts can be seen in Appendix 1.
Won't the games go until 3 in the morning, especially with larger player tourneys?
The blinding schedule that we will strictly adhere to should force most games to finish within 3 hours. If the first event carries over much longer, we will enforce an Ante for the last few periods of the blinding schedule.
Are we at liberty to drink during these tournaments?
Really? Have you ever played poker with us before? Yes, you are free to consume as much alcohol as you think you can handle. However, given the more serious nature of the format - I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of the usual suspects tone it down a notch (including me).
